Normally when we stay in Peterborough, we stay at the Premier Inn at Hampton, which is exactly as you would expect from a Premier Inn – but this weekend, as we were eating at a restaurant out of town, we decided to stay at the Premier Inn at Orton Waterville.
I am SO glad we did!
On arrival, the receptionist, Sigita, was on a business call but she acknowledged us immediately with a smile and indicated that she would be with us as soon as possible.
As soon as the call finished, Sigita apologised and checked our details. We had checked in online, to save time, but as she was giving us our key she asked if we needed anything else so I asked her how far our restaurant was. It turned out to be a place she was unfamiliar with but she googled it and printed off directions without being asked – seriously, how fabulous is that?!
Our room was exceptionally clean (I mean, apart from a cleaning cloth left in the bathroom, it was faultless!) and staff had kindly given us a large fan to help keep our room cool as the weather was glorious.
We found the restaurant easily, thanks to the printed directions and we had an amazing afternoon and evening, having dinner with family and friends and a short walk back saw us settling our 4 year old into bed. The hotel was so quiet and we all had a wonderfully relaxing sleep.
Sunday morning we got ready and made our way to the on site pub/restaurant for breakfast where we were greeted with the friendliest, most enthusiastic and polite member of staff we’ve ever encountered. Claire showed us to our table and made it clear that whatever we just needed to shout out. The breakfasts arrived quickly and perfectly cooked, and the continental breakfasts were regularly topped up which meant we didn’t want for anything.
When it came to checking out, the receptionist on duty (I neglected to get her name, unfortunately) was so friendly too, chatting with us and asking if everything had been okay.
I would like to thank the Premier Inn at Orton Waterville and all their staff for their amazing customer service and for making our stay into something pretty wonderful – and I would highly recommend it!
